Output Files

To understand the units and quantitative results in Spect3D output files, see Interpreting Results.

During a Spect3D simulation, the following output files may be generated:

• A copy of the workspace file:
• Energy and Transition data file: contains atomic energy level and transition data.
• Log file: contains simulation and debug output, along with possible runtime warnings or error information.
• Detector images file: Contains the unfiltered and filtered images generated by a simulation.
• Simulation properties: General properties of the simulation, such as the hydro time.
• Spectral data file: The space-integrated spectrum.
• Space resolved spectral files: The spatially resolved spectra in vertical or horizontal dimension of image plane.
• Optical depth iso-surfaces file. Data for the optical depth iso-surfaces.
• Atomic level population data file: The populations of the collapsed levels for each zone
• LOS output file: Output generate during computation of line of sight data. Overwritten for each new line of sight.
• Zone dependent data file: The contribution from each volume element to the intensity seen at the detector, written for each additional photon energy.
• Zone specific data file: Data (populations, ionization fractions, temperature, density, charge ...) for specified plasma zone.
